No jokes man, I was taking the garbage out once with my son when he was 2, I almost walked into a huge spider web, with the spider in it, I jumped back, fell over screamed like a girl, knocked my son over, he hit his head and i broke a rib. Did I mention I didnt like spiders! Those huntsmen are a pain, they love coming inside too, and they are really flat, so they love sitting behind picture frames and then jumping out when you adjust the frame.

That is what is so creepy about them (spiders) they are sneaky.....
I think men have an extra reason to fear spiders based on the habits of the "Black Widow"

OMG Lucid, if that landed on me ,my family would be picking my plot... I would have died on the spot... moths give me the heegie jeebies, frighten the kack out of me they do. Butterflies no problem, just something about moths scare me to death (shivers). Talking of butterflies, a huge yellow one kept landing on me while in Greece. I got a lovely pic of it, I'll see if I can hunt it out sometime... they say they are messengers from the dead. Moths I can handle, now spiders scare the crap out of me, we get these things all the time, the dreaded huntsman spider, they get up to 6 inches across. I would die a death if I seen one of those, OMG thats awful. Little spiders I can cope with but one's the size of a dinner plate no way! I would slip on my own shite trying to get out the way of one of those lol

The first night here we were staying at a freinds house, I walked up the stairs to go to bed. Now I had heard all the stories about these huge spiders and noticed the window was open. Being the smart lad I was, I thought, better close that, so i did. When I walked back out of the bathroom, 15 sec later I noticed, on the wall, not 6 inchs from where my head was as I closed the window, was the biggest spider in the world. My parents caught up with me 10 miles down the road as i was running back to the airport.

OMG Lucid, if that landed on me ,my family would be picking my plot... LOL That is the coolest looking moth I have ever seen. Little things like this speak just a loud as the big things when it comes to understanding just how diverse this world really is.

Seriously, I would just fall over dead. I don't always admit this, but insects are one of the main reasons that I have pretty much stayed in Idaho my whole life. Our insects are small, non-agressive, and not really numerous. Biggest insect around is the preying mantis, and even those are small in these parts, not to mention fairly rare. I cannot stand the thought of having roaches must less having spiders the size of my head running around. I honestly don't think I could live a normal life.

Do you want to hear a story about spiders? well, in a junk yard in iraq. I was lifting hoods and fenders looking for a good hood, I lifted a hood and out RUNS this thing called a Camel spider! if you have ever seen one it would creep you out. it was the size of softball all hairy with long legs. I jumped on the hood of the Humvee I came in and screamed like a little girl! Now, I'm a Sergeant and not really a small guy and the privet that was driving laughed so hard he cried. that was hard to live down man. very aggressive little bastards, they can run up to 30 mph. only good thing is, they are NOT poisonous. icky.
