I honestly think 3D TV is a gimmick surfing the wave.
2 yrs time it will be as dead as betamax.
People will realise that its still tv, and they look like fucking morons wearing those silly glasses. I can handle looking like a tit in the cinema, but it's fecking annoying if you already wear glasses. If you wanna watch football (thats soccer for the heathens) in 3D and have the money to buy a new 3D telly. Send me a plane ticket instead. I'll kick a ball in their face for a true 3D experience.
I'm sure I've said it before. But, the only good thing I see coming out of this 3rd 3D revolution, are video games.

strongly disagree. the only reason 3d never took hold in years past was because the technology was weak. 3d movies then became away for sub par plots to be enhanced by visual aids.
today's 3d is about as much a fad as people were claiming vid game home consoles were in the the late 70s and early 80s. then the technology got better and there were those still claiming it was a fad. we see what happened there didn't we?
3d technology will eventually morph into holographic technology. the glasses are not going to be needed in the near future. the only obstacle that has to be overcame is the price points. the technology is moving so fast that the average family just can't afford much of it because its all cutting edge.
so go on ahead and bet someone good money that its a fad. just remember that money you have to give up could have went towards a new 3d/holographic system.
