Real UFO?

Hey numpties! Miss me? Probably didn't even know I was AWOL!

OK. Anyway. Just had 2 weeks in Skopelos. Saw some cool shit. Did loads of snorkeling.

Last Wednesday night the bird and I went to Agnonstas for seafood and to watch the sunset and the local fishermen go out in their boats.

So sitting there having a few drinks and munching away on bread I had a look up and saw this bright white smear in the sky. It's in the middle and about 1/5th down from top.



Roughly, I was looking West South West, towards the mainland and the nearest airport on Skiathos island.
My first impression was a contrail. But, this appeared way too high and I would have expected to see some sort of reflection or object on the leading point of the 'trail'. I didn't.
I also didn't see it move. It was just there. While chatting to the lady about it, she saw it too, we both looked back and it was gone.

My first impression is still contrail. But, the fact it just disappeared, really threw me. I couldn't explain to myself how it could do that.

So. For now. I will class it as unidentified.

Anyway. What'd I miss?

hi concrete,its hard to say what it is without photo really!
iv seen the same sort of thing mate,i will go in my old pc mora and dig out a photo i took of what i thought was stubby contrail but like you it just stayed in same spot then was gone

hmm i saw something like this at night on the 4th of july in pennsylvannia back in 1999 it was a big thick cloudlike thing that was shaped like a dash mark - it was odd no other clouds in the sky just this dashmark shaped cloud ....i shrugged it off as a smoke trail from fireworks but i knew it really wasn t attributed to that ... very strange !
