The variety of people who smoke is amazing. Unfortunately, getting bankers and stock brokers and, yes, police officers, judges and lawyers to admit they smoke, much less go out in public and demonstrate is impossible. Think about how cautious we are about who we tell about it. The only people who go to these, are those with little to lose anyway. It is a vicious cycle, begun with Reefer Madness and propagated by continued mis information from the government, etc. Not to mention the millions of dollars invested in all those jails and officers to guard them. All filled with people who had minimal amounts of pot. Too bad we can't let them out and spend that money eradicating the Mexican Nationals who now control vast areas of Arizona.
People will and do openly admit to having a drinking problem because they will not be arrested for it. Judges, lawyers, police, politicians all have publicly admitted alcohol problems and the public has sympathy for them. Even those who have hurt maimed or killed someone in a drunken stupor have been excused because they "have a problem". We smoke a little weed, hold down careers and families, and are productive members of society, yet get caught and you are the scum of the earth. NASCAR personality, Randy Lajoie was just suspended from ESPN and NASCAR for testing positive for pot. His livelihood was just pulled out from under him like a murderer, yet all he did was smoke a joint. Yet had he a serious drinking problem and abused his family or wrecked his personal car due to DWI, and he would have continued to have a job so long as he "got help". Until we can remove the stigma of pot heads and burnouts, and these type of demonstrations don't help us, we will never convince anyone that it is a viable recreational drug and medicinal herb. We all know that you cannot OD on pot yet hundreds of people everyday are admitted to hospitals with alcohol poisoning, or liver problems due to alcohol. It is a total double standard. I have been long winded enough. . . . . . . NEXT
