I love the reporting on these stories, the headlines here screamed " possibly 1000s killed and two Australians missing".
Yeah, screw the 1000s killed, tell about the two australians that suffered a sprained ankle and a cut finger.

i care for the simple reason that these events go into my file as signs something really bad is coming. when stable fault lines suddenly become active for the first time in centuries it gets my attention. we just had about the same magnitude earth quake in northern california with barely any damage at all.
something is happening. i want to be wrong..........i want to be overreacting............and i am more than willing to be convinced by real science that i am..........but so far nothing has made me doubt my gut on this..........

I have a different veiw, freak occurance is all.
I remember when we had an earthquake in Newcastle that killed 13 people, everybody was like "but we dont have earthquakes". But how do they know that, everybody has earthquakes, just a matter of how big and how often.
Tell you what, with the shoddy constuction work thats done on apartment blocks here in Sydney, if they ever have a big one here, thousands will die. But its ok because we dont have earthquakes in Sydney, well for havent for the 200 years we have been here, however, if a big one occurs every 250 years we are in deep shit.

wiggy pole shift could be the culprit. there have been strange magnetic abnormalities of late and we know for a fact that the poles have shifted more than a few times in earth's history. its a natural process.
how's this for weird...........if a pole shift occurs that includes a world wide climate shift as well the middle east will become a temperate zone much like the america mid west.........the bread basket of the planet. the deserts will see plant life within 5 years maybe sooner if man helps to speed it up. maybe we are not fighting for oil...........but for food.
sounds crazy i'll be the first to admit it. lets just hope it stays a crazy thought.

I care but what can we do,i think more will happen,i also think the gulf stream is slowing down. Could we be about to experience pole shift I think if there is any facts regarding 2012 then this could be a steady build up of adverse weather/earth quakes and 2012 could be the climax,it could be caused by solar flares, as the sun has 11 year cycles and 2012 is a max. Sometimes the field completely flips. The north and the south poles swap places. Such reversals, recorded in the magnetism of ancient rocks, are unpredictable. They come at irregular intervals averaging about 300,000 years; the last one was 780,000 years ago. Are we overdue for another? No one knows.
