Something occurred in China yesterday, something that may have been a magnitude 8.6 quake. By Holly Deyo 1-28-10 We don't know what happened yesterday, but two seismic monitoring stations some 1300 miles apart both reported an 8.6 earthquake in China. Maybe it was a weapons test. However, a large magnitude temblor struck in nearly this same location (36.50ºN, 105.70ºE) on December 12, 1920. The Haiyuan quake killed 200,000 people, caused landslides and collapsed thousands of homes. Various magnitudes were reported for this temblor ranging from 7.8 to 8.5. Aftershocks shook the country for three years following. Below are two screen snapshots from reporting stations that still show an earthquake occurred. The INSF is from Switzerland and Red Puma is from Romania. The third screen shot of EMSC looks like they are claiming this event is a reporting error. A 'reporting error' from three different seismic stations in three different countries? It's funny, the USGS didn't report it. Whatever occurred, these seismic stations picked up something 'interesting'. standeyo.com/NEWS/10_Earth_Changes/100128.CH.8.6 event.html uummm very strange

Hi Brill, went and had a look at the RSOE site, but there is no reported earth quake in China, only a Tech Incident. But the description sounds a bit like a earthquake to me. One person was killed Friday when a rundown building collapsed in Hong Kong, while at least four others were missing and believed to be trapped in the rubble, government and emergency officials said. The residential block, which was more than 50 years old, collapsed in Hung Hom, in Hong Kong's Kowloon district, police said. Chief Executive Donald Tsang, who visited the site of the collapse, told reporters at least one person was confirmed dead. A spokesman for the fire services said at the scene there were at least four people believed trapped. "I saw bits and pieces of earth and tiles sliding down the wall at the beginning... a woman was trying to climb out through the window. About 15 seconds later, the building fell like dominoes," a passer-by told Cable TV. Cable TV also broadcast footage of a large team of firemen rescuing trapped people from the rubble. The broadcaster said renovation work was being carried out on the ground floor of the building, but that the cause of the collapse remained unclear. hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/woalert_read.php?glide=AC-20100129-24733-CHN&cat=dis&lang=eng
