For all who wonder why the UK pays a shitload for gas. For the Yanks here (no offence). £5/gallon is about $8/gallon. Higher prices at the pumpsThe first blow is that, after a temporary cut in Value Added Tax to 15% from 1 December 2008, VAT returned to 17.5% on 1 January 2010. The end of the VAT reduction has added 2.3p a litre to fuel prices. Also, increases in fuel duty last April and September added 4.5p a litre to fuel prices in 2009. Thus, according to the AA, the average pump price for petrol is now over 110p a litre, with diesel costing 111.8p. With 4.54 litres to the gallon, this means that a gallon of petrol has hit £5, with diesel even more expensive at £5.08 per gallon. www.lovemoney.com/news/manage-your-finances/get-ready-for-higher-petrol-prices-4407.aspx?source=1000417With the £ tanking as well, get ready for even worse.

Strange thing is our petrol is going up again too, we have been told to expect a 15c per litre rise.
But this is at a time when our dollar is at.92c to the US dollar. Petrol is now around 1.30 a litre, when it was last this high, our dollar was at 0.62 to the US.
Everytime they tell us a reason for increases, ie, "our dollar is low" they then contradict themselves the next time it goes up.

Actually. Its Gasoline. Gas, are things like propane, butane and LPG. So, either call it by its name, or call it Petrol. Although, petrol is a french word.

A 0.18c increase, thats the wonders of our weekly "petrol price cycle".
Oh, and if your wondering why they do this, well guess what day thursday is for 90% of the population.....thats right its payday.
