Gunung Padang: the Oldest Pyramid? Facts Revealed
Gunung Padang is the alleged oldest pyramid on the planet. It’s located in a mountainous region in the Indonesian archipelago.
As an ancient megalithic site, it has been quite popular with history lovers especially in the alternate history field. Some believe that the mountain itself was built by humans with more underlying layers to be discovered. A team of Indonesian researchers published a paper in 2023, claiming that this extraordinary pyramid is up to 27,000 years old. This conclusion is based mainly on the carbon dating of a soil sample collected between rock layers. The archaeological community, however, is questioning the findings – the paper was investigated and retracted. In this video, I’ll offer my thoughts & insights on these results and other findings in this controversial paper; I’ll also point out a few well-established facts on Gunung Padang that are not emphasized enough. Once people know about them, we can view this so-called pyramid in a better light and as a result with more clarity. These facts will help us understand the location and construction of Gunung Padang:
why was it built there and how was it built.
Will Gunung Padang rewrite history? Is it really a manmade pyramid? Is there onsite proof of an ancient advanced civilization creating this megalithic site over 20,000 years ago?
