Stonehenge Summer Solstice 21st June 2021 | Megalithomania About 1000 people turned up to experience the summer solstice at Stonehenge (the longest day and shortest night), even thought it was officially closed due to so-called Covid restrictions (although thousand of maskless people shared several days at the Ascot races!). Druids carried out a ceremony outside the fence, whilst pagans and revellers jumped the fence to peacefully celebrate within the stones. It seems you cant take away the stones from the people, and the security guys seemed to agree when we spoke to them. English Heritage cancelled the live-stream (that they profit from), and the stones were reclaimed. Photos from inside the circle courtesy of www.facebook.com/StonehengeNews.

Interesting Solstice Alignment between Dudley Page Reserve at Dover Heights and Stone Circle at Kurrajong that has a distinctive 'Macquarie' theme to it .
