Primate takes phone, then selfies
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — A Malaysian student whose cellphone was stolen while he was sleeping has tracked down the culprit: a monkey who took photo and video selfies with the device before abandoning it.
Zackrydz Rodzi, 20, said Wednesday that his phone was missing from his bedroom when he woke up Saturday. He found the phone’s casing under his bed but there was no sign of robbery in his house in southern Johor state.
When his father saw a monkey the next day, he launched a search in the jungle behind his house. Using his brother’s phone to call the device, he found it covered in mud under a palm tree. But a bigger surprise came when he checked his phone and found a series of monkey selfies and videos recorded in the phone.

Dismembered Body Parts Found In Suitcases That Markham Police Say Man Hauled All The Way From Kentucky
MARKHAM, Ill. (CBS) — In a gruesome and horrific discovery, body parts were found inside suitcases in south suburban Markham on Tuesday.
Police said the body parts were hauled all the way from Kentucky on a Greyhound bus, and the family of the man who came with them had no idea.
As CBS 2’s Jermont Terry reported, the family members were at the police station in Markham until late Tuesday night answering questions. Terry is told they are cooperating with the investigation.
Police said the man’s family suspected something was strange about the suitcases, but no one expected the body parts that ended up being discovered in them.
Meanwhile, Markham police spent much of the day Tuesday outside a house at 164th and Wood streets. Neighbor David Scott did not think much of the police officers across the street at first.
“I went to the store, and by the time I went to neighborhood store, came back, that’s when I saw the yellow tape from the crime scene,” Scott said. “I knew something was bad that happened then.

Far-Right Police Officers Suspended in Germany After Sharing Hitler Pictures
BERLIN — Twenty-nine German police officers have been suspended from duty on suspicion of sharing images of Adolf Hitler and violent neo-Nazi propaganda in at least five online chat groups, German authorities said on Wednesday, the latest in a series of cases of far-right infiltration in Germany’s police and military.
Herbert Reul, the interior minister of the western state of North-Rhine Westphalia, where the chats were discovered, called the discovery a “disgrace.”
Speaking at a news conference Wednesday, Mr. Reul described the images that were shared among officers as “far-right extremist propaganda” of the “ugliest, most despicable, neo-Nazi, anti-immigrant” kind.
Police raided the homes of 14 of the 29 suspended officers, most of whom stand accused of actively sharing content that included, among other things, a fictional image of a refugee in a gas chamber.
Some of the chats have existed for years and at least one dates back to the early days of the arrival of hundreds of thousands of migrants to Germany in 2015, officials said.
