Interesting post BrillB, Stonehenge is well quite a place to visit, and when I was quite young and visited you could just run around the place and climb on the smaller stones without a problem. On the subject of how these great stones were moved, when I was on hols in Egypt 08, this attachment pic I took was how the guide explained, was how the ancients moved huge stones to make in this example a temple wall, all to do with creating a mound of earth and manually dragging it up this temporary slope, in foreground, then digging it away again. This is always the method experts apply to how large heavy objects were moved many years ago but it doesnt take into account that many of our ancients were technologically advanced does it!
