I was recently talking to a good friend about this. I didn't really, and still don't, know much about it as I had not explored this avenue of science. I was still lost in the older string theory and had "put it aside" for other, more readily understandable (to me- I'm a lazy ass : > ) ) and contemporary science that we have a better understanding of, and that might affect us in our everyday lives. In the conversation with my friend, my curiosity was peaked. I'm ready to look at this amazing theory, and to try and grasp it's meaning and it"s significance. Anyone want to join in?

its basically the same they even refer to it as super string theory. it just adds more dimensions/universes to the mix. this allows all the theories to combine into one. they added 11 dimensions to achieve it but have moved past that number now. in fact last i heard it has become infinite.
its all based on branes and their connection points which create universes when they touch.

Doh!!!!!!!!!.....................I now understand thoroughly and completely! Thanks for breakin' down for me, Drex! : > } The question/thread title "M-Theory- What is it?" was a rhetorical question. I was kinda hopin' for some interesting dialogue. So, is this what a "kabosh" is? Wow, that's two in a row for me. I'm afraid to post #3. One more kabosh, and I'm out! I don't understand why absolutly no one wants to discuss this interesting theory. Is it boring? Too complicated? Everyone here but me has it all figured out? Afraid to post on this subject? I Just don't get it. The idea was not just to watch the videos together, not a PSA. No one wants to discuss??? Jeez. Thanks, guys- nice posts. Forgedaboudit. CHEERS! Hawk

This subject links with earlier posts we had 2 or 3 threads on Dimensions and we had pretty cubes and cubes within cubes and then we got to the 11th dimension where mathematicians and other scientific types, physicists cosmologists experts in the field said was the limit.
Now we hit an infinite number of possibile dimensions out in the universe and beyond and it is hard to get your head round it all, like looking at relections in mirrors which reflect other mirrors all too much to take in and understand, which can scare folk. Fascinating subject all theory but good thread/posts guys.
