Right.
My DVDRW will only read write CDs and CDROMs. It won't recognise DVDs at all. No movies, no games, no data DVDs.
Any ideas?

Yeah Concrete depends if your DVD has one or two lasers. If it has two, one to read CDs and one to read DVDs, the DVD laser has failed. If it only has one laser that laser may have focusing problems. It can still read CDs but can not read in the detail needed to read DVD.
If you open it up do not look into the laser.

Cheers wes.
Think it's fucked. Problem is. It's still under warranty, but, I can't afford to send it away for repair (2 to 8 weeks). I need it on a daily basis for work. Fuck!!!
Probably will have to buy a new drive for it and install it myself.

Yeah Alien an external DVD drive would be a quick way to fix the problem. I would look at that Concrete, just plug into a USB and you have a working DVD drive.
