good point big d in a way an apocalypse if you were to survive it , would be the ultimate test of ones man skills and you would really have control over your life... you would have no choice survive or die no government ... no laws to "protect "no umbrellas to hide under .... I think that is the appeal of this stuff. glad you liked the book ! personally I would grab a truck load of ammo and food and barricade myself up in a nightclub full of hot ukrainian strippers that were very grateful that I was protecting them lol!

i'm a 80s child thats how we were brought up.
here in the states we are facing a severe ammo drought........hard to say if its caused by the wars, scared citizens or government control.

You think you got problems, we cant have guns, we might shoot people with them.

A guy named Martin Byant at Port Athur in Tasmania destroyed our gun laws. They got a bit upset when he killed 35 people.
There has always been rumors it was a set up, he killed 35 and only left 2 wounded, amazing shooting for an untrained civilian.

Do you think all this fascination with the apocolapse is a male thing. I think we are genetically pre disposed to want to be the hunter gatherer type, to and to be seen as being able to provide food and care for our familys and loved ones.
I think in the modern world we have lost this ability and yearn for a return to the simple way of life that would require us to fill that role again.

You have a good point DarrylM re wars and calamities whilst bringing the worst out in mankind (by the few instigators) it also helps to pul people together and that applies even with politicians 'gasp' in a Coalition government as in WW2.
Its a drastic action however in this Bryant case and sadly many others that guys who feel that their manhood has been eroded say thru feminism or equal rights has to prove the point in shooting dead innocent folk, shame they dont always go the suicide route instead of choosing the homicide one! I dont know about the hunter gatherer route you suggest either as it seems to me that this is just a case of over expression of emotions thru excessive aggression!
