Thinkabout that. Now. If everything is anonomous, how could you log on? An anonymous email? An anonymousy student number? www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-05/berkeley-students-give-us-your-dnaThe university's dean of biological sciences says a look at personalized medicineHow does personalized insurance sound? I'm not even talking about medical. Would you lend money to someone who 'may' die before the contract ends? I would. If they paid a shid load on extras. Suprisingly. I can see good in 'personalised medicine' But, my cynical nature thinks that it actually means fuck all.

I would presume that they would be able to log on using the barcode number, nothing else.

I would presume that they would be able to log on using the barcode number, nothing else. I thought that as well shee. But, then what is the point of this? If they find certain things that stand out. How could they compare the data with anything without knowing the students background? Perhaps a student dies from a rare genetic disease, that would show up on a simple test, and is treatable. Would they still stay anonymous, and let the student die? I may be over thinking the whole thing. But, when I see that word. My alarm bells start going off. There is no such thing as anonymous any more.

By just looking at that I would presume that the students would have a hefty questionnaire to fill in about lifestyle, they are just comparing the student's ability to tolerate alcohol, absorb folic acid and metabolize lactose etc thats all, so will doing graphs, research etc on who is most likely to suffer from anything, just research. I would have thought if they can access their data anything found can be printed and taken to a Dr so it can be treated. I dont know...
But yeah, there isn't such a thing as Anonymity any more.
