Blue Lick Springs Mastodon A mastodon found at Blue Lick Springs in Kentucky was excavated at a depth of twelve feet. But, as digging continued, a cut-and-set-stone pavement was found three feet deeper, under where the mastodon had been lying[1]. Now, mastodons first appeared 4 million years ago, and went distinct 10,000 years ago[2]- yet we have a cut-and-set pavement predating this mastodon. Even if you accept that this might have been one of the last mastodons before they went extinct, scientists still have a problem explaining how (and why) a pavement appeared when man was supposed still hunting and gathering- thousands of years before man supposedly
