I knew bears walked on thier hind legs, but never so far and so upright.

Shit I just realized why its doing that, look at around 1 min, when it goes down on all fours, its got a broken or deformed front right leg, thats why its walking on its back legs.

Yeah I did notice this Darryl, I think you could be right. But it still walks pretty bloody well. Could this of happened to one of the Apes long ago, a injured hand (front foot) led to it walking. You know once you do something different everyone starts to copy you.
