Speaking of ridiculous.....This is about 10 minutes away from me. Why punish the child? A Barrhaven daycare is taking a zero-tolerance hardline on food allergies. On Monday, the Centre de l’enfant aux 4 Vente daycare suspended two-year old Faith Murray for three days for bringing a processed cheese sandwich in a sealed ziplock bag onto the property. The daycare, which looks after 148 children aged 18 months to 12 years has a strict no food from outside policy due to the number of children with food allergies it looks after. Penalties range from a three-day suspension for dairy, to immediate termination for anything containing nuts. Daycare director Deb Ducharme says she understands the consequences are difficult on parents but has to hold the line because some of these children have life-threatening sensitivities. www.ottawasun.com/2014/03/04/2-year-old-suspended-from-daycare-for-bringing-in-cheese-sandwich

Its getting silly now. You can understand (sort of) with a peanut allergy as the spores go airborn, but soft cheese? Im sure a letter home would have been enough, that poor kid will have that stuck on their school record befor they even get there.
