71-year-old man get black belt in karateA 71-year-old New York state man has earned a fourth-degree black belt in karate after spending 20 years learning the sport. James Wild of Williamsville said he started practicing karate after hearing about a disabled 7-year-old boy earning a black belt, The Buffalo News reported Sunday. "I thought at the time, if he could do it, so can I," Wild said. Since starting karate, Wild has suffered a heart attack and had to undergo triple bypass surgery. Wild said he feels "pretty good" about his recent accomplishment, but that he won't stop there. "I'm going for the fifth," he said. This is a great story. After many years practising karate and achieving black belts in 2 disciplines, I understand the pride this gentleman must have. The moral of this story is - you're never too old!
