World War Z Movie Plot & Release Date Written by: Deth_Banger on August 11, 2011
Marc Foresters big screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ novel World War Z is one of the most highly anticipated films but unfortunately it looks as if the film will not exactly follow the novel.
I’ve never actually read the novel so I can’t exactly comment, however, Slash Film are reporting that the official plot synopsis is a far cry from the actual novel as it follows and revolves around Brad Pitt’s character Gerry Lane.
As they pout it, the novel plays out more like a documentary so in some way it makes sense as most audiences want action and suspense over a documentary style film, I’m assuming that’s what made the novel what it is. Anyway check out the official synopsis below and judge for yourselves.
Synopsis: “The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.”
World War Z is said to hit theatres on December 21, 2012.

Yeah its kinda hard to tell without all the CGI bits to be added later, its the story that bothers me, they better not do away with the whole world view the book had.

World War Z To Become a Trilogy? Written by: Deth_Banger The last we heard of Marc Forster’s big-screen adaptation of World War Z involved the S.W.A.T confiscating firearms on the set. Even with that set-back, the film is still on the cards and they are working away like beavers. Now we have an interesting tid-bit of news regarding a potential trilogy… Recently Brad Pitt spoke with the L.A. Times and gave us something to think about. “Marc Forster and Paramount Pictures each view “World War Z” as a trilogy that would have the grounded, gun-metal realism of, say, Damon’s Jason Bourne series tethered to the unsettling end-times vibe of AMC’s ”The Walking Dead.” As you can see, nothing has been confirmed, but I’m pretty sure we all had a feeling that there wouldn’t be just one World War Z flick.

Ooooooooo, 1st movie, the outbreak 2nd movie war and fightback 3rd movie the aftermath, the cleanup of the "hotzones" the original stories from the book.
Assuming the first movie makes money of course.
