Now, if you were a government, and decided that the Black Death plague was, or could be, a future threat, what would you do.
You put together a panel or commission of eminent scientists to study this perceived threat. These scientists look at this potential threat for over a year, all the while receiving generous government grants to do so.
When they finally deliver their report, what do you think it would say?
Something along the lines of "this threat is very credible and deserves extensive future research, possible extending years"
Do I need to mention climate change.

Pretty fucking pointless if you ask me.
The 'Black Death' is not a credible threat. Both the cause, symptoms and the cure are now known. In fact it still is emdemic in a lot of countries.
The reason it killed so many before, was simply because at the time it was unknown how it was spread.
It really is fucking amazing how goverments waste money.
I don't know what is worse. The people that commision these reports (and flash the cash for them), or the 'scientific' community that takes this money to keep them from having any actual job in the private sector. They're nothing more than prostitutes. They just give a different kind of lip service.
