Is this all the time or just recently Brill? Lots of posts on the you tube forum about recent low down load speed. If this is so Google are doing somethink with their severs.
If the problem persists might have to look at your browser setting. Temp files could be full and that can cut into your Ram. Go empty unwanted files from Temp file. And even maybe some files from your cookies file.

brill you are confusing two different measurements. you are paying for 8gigs of traffic.............not 8gigs download speed. go here and see what your true speed is. www.speedtest.net/

Brills. To add.
You're paying for 'up to' speeds. As I am.
I once lived right next to an exchange and still only got about 2Mps (I would be dubious if you were sold a Gig deal) Thats fiber optic stuff.
Anyway. It does depend on the distance from the exchange and also the quality, and amount of traffic on the line from the exchange to your area/house.
Plus BT. Are arses. I've had similar problems. It depends on what you're downloading and what contract you're on.

Oh, best advice. If you wanna download anything. Do it really late, or really early. While traffic on the BT lines are lower.
