Does every vote count ? Will history repeat itself in 2010 elections?
With the elections coming up it would be nice to know that every vote counts.
With that hope we are still reminded of how it took the Supreme Court to decide the 2000 presidential election. We are also reminded of the convenient plane crash involving, computer expert Michael Connell, before he could testify in the 2004 Ohio election fraud case, a chance occurrence of 1 in 11 million.
Will history repeat itself?
Will there be more court cases involving election fraud? Will there be more convenient plane crashes? Will the will of the voters be up in the air again like it was in 2000?
We all know that there are programs that can rig electronic elections; computer programmers have given testimony before state legislatures under oath on the subject. Again and again computer science professors show how easily this can be done on national television. And yet we are asked to trust the software and the voting machines.
I for one am for moving back to paper ballots, involving a system where voters can receive a receipt of their vote. Sure voting fraud can still occur, but the process would go much slower. People have to destroy paper ballots. With new voting technology no paper ballots have to be destroyed, there is no paper trail everything is digital.
This election is very important because it will be a forecast of the 2012 elections, showing how well please Americans are with the current Obama administration. We will see if there will be more allegations of voter fraud in the future.
See you at the voting booth!
