In August 2010 the Ministry of Defence released a set of documents under the Freedom of Information Act which confirmed Rudloe Manor's involvement in the UK's UFO reporting mechanic.
just a small part of rudloe
Up until the early part of 1992 the Flying Complaints Flight (FCF) which was part of the Provost and Security Services based in Corsham, was the central co-ordination point for reports of UFOs made to RAF stations around the country by members of the public and service personnel.
Rudloe Manor's role was to record details of UFO reports and pass them on to the Secretariat (Air Staff) 2 in Whitehall where the reports where then checked for evidence that the UK Air Defence Region might have been compromised by hostile activity. Sec(AS)2 weren't concerned by extra terrestrial threats, their worry was foreign military presence in UK airspace.
As soon as the reports were cleared of any security risk they ceased to be of interested to Sec(AS)2 and were filed away.
In the mid-90s rumours circulating within the UFO research community speculated that the government were storing UFOs in Corsham and working with aliens to achieve mind-altering technologies. The Ministry of Defence commented on these claims at the time stating that they were "not aware of any evidence which might substantiate claims" that alien craft or life forms have been visiting Earth.
now When the war ended, however, the government did not return Rudloe Manor and its underground caverns to its prewar owners as happened to most wartime acquisitions. It was kept by the government. And it was kept very secret. It has since been revealed that one function of the caves was to house a government communications centre that would be activated if a nuclear war began. Other uses of the caves remain highly classified and top secret.
One of these top secret purposes is the Central Computer Complex (CCC). Quite what the CCC does is not entirely clear. Some say it controls the Trident nuclear missile firing systems, others that it has a role in ’sigint’ or signals intelligence. Nobody really knows. One of the most intriguing of the few facts to come out of CCC is that there is another section of the caverns under Rudloe Manor that is accessed only through CCC (itself heavily guarded and accessed only by those with high security clearance) by way of a door that is guarded 24/7 and that only a few of those cleared to enter CCC are permitted to pass.
Now what can be behind that door? Obviously something highly sensitive.
here is another part of rudloe, all of this is built over the tunnels
RAF Rudloe Manor is one of many government sites in the Corsham complex. According to the RAF's own web site Rudloe Manor is home to No. 1 and 6 Signals Units, the MoD Communications Network, Headquarters P&SS [Provost & Security Service] UK RAF P&SS Western Region, and Headquarters Defence Fixed Telecommunications Systems.
remember RUDLOE is not a house its a fake town

oh and did you know
the vast underground complex at Corsham, Rudloe Manor, Box near Bath, England was the wartime home of a joint War Office/ U.S. Government plant for the assembly of the famous 'Jeep' light reconaissance truck. The plant turned out over 15,000 jeeps between 1942-45 releasing thousands of tons of shipping space for other uses. The complex was not however, excavated for military use being originally a quarry for the famous Bath Stone. Parts were also used as an ammunition store as well as a large district which was earmarked for government office and residential use.
Jeep manufacturing in the UK was carried out in the Rudloe Tunnels near Bath, England. This secretive outfit was buried (literally) deep in the west country at Corsham, home of the uk top secret strategic steam reserve just outside Bath, England.
The rebuild plant at Rudloe operated in a section of the huge underground quarries at Corsham in Wiltshire and produced thousands of jeeps in the war - saving priceless shipping space on the North Atlantic convoys. The Jeeps produced at Corsham are today much prized by military vehicle enthusiasts as they contain many features not found on the US built versions including soft seats, cigar lighters, starters that work all the time and windscreens that don't have a horizontal bar at exactly eye level.
Practice makes Perfect
An unidentified American unit on manouvers near the Strategic Reserve in August 1948.
Note that the censor has blacked out the locomotive in the background. All strategic reserve locomotives had their numbers removed to prevent identification.
