Why when it takes off does it move like a caterpillar ? lol
This is the clearest footage i've ever seen
Here have a bonus ride going somewhere but nowhere lol
Apollo 16 in 60fps: Rover Traverse to Station 4...wow this is so clear in both voice and footage you would almost think it was done on a stage set lol.

Why when it takes off does it move like a caterpillar ? Yeah, Don't want to be moving too fast. All about 'Escape Velocity'. To escape the Gravity well of the Earth,that is created by the Earth's mass, you need a Rocket to reach the speed of 11.19 km/s (40.270 km/h). That will get you into orbit around the Earth. To break away for the Gravity pull of the Earth you will need to increase your Velocity another 3.05 to 3.25 km/s. The escape velocity from the Moon is a, slow pace, of 2.37 km/s. If the Lunar Module reached a Velocity over 11.19 km/s it would not only leave the Moon but leave the Gravity Well of the Earth. Which would put it in Orbit around the Sun. That would not be good. We would now need a Propulsion system that can reach a speed of 615 km/sec (2,214 Kilometers per Hour) to break away from the Gravity well of the Sun. If not we will orbit the Sun for a long time, maybe forever. So a nice, slow, controlled, lift off from the Moon was an important part of getting back to Earth.
