Yeah no harm in trying to see both sides, it's just a shame MS will always attribute it to Romans.
Baalbek is very controversial due to it changing hands so many times and the Romans occupying it as one of the most sophisticated cultures in ancient history so everyone credits them with everything.
There are still many unanswered questions I'm trying to get my head around. For instance it is true that the Romans carved with iron/steel chisels but could the same be done with copper chisels? How about all the amazing carved granite bowls and vases in the Cairo museum with much better workmanship than the cultures did afterwards?
Did they forget how to do it? Or the granite vases carved on the inside of the vase making a smooth uniformly thin wall? Or the precision of the "schist disc " artifact? Or the granite box inside the serapheum that is too big to fit through the tunnels leading to it? Or the 100 ton granite box part way down a small tunnel, clearly too small for hundreds of people to push and pull it ?.
Unlike Brian Dr. Miano has a good CV,yet he writes from a point of view that only Historians Determine the Historicity of People and Events.
How do we know they did the things people claim they did or said the things people claim they said? Unless we can travel back in time and look, or replay a video, there is no way to know for sure. Such things can never be proven. But historians still attempt to answer these questions to the best of their ability. They can never claim to establish historical truths; at most they can establish probabilities.
