Kaviak is a delicacy of Greenlandic Inuits. It consists of approximately 400 Auks, small indigenous birds, sealed whole into the carcass of a seal and stored under a pile of rocks for several months. When food is short in the winter months this is dug out and opened up. The birds have fermented and softened during the storage time and everything but the feathers is edible, raw.
