Shogun or Dragon?

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida

the dragon is ranked #4 in the world with a perfect 15-0 record -- shogun is 18-3 but has fought better competition in pride and the ufc.

i've been a shogun fan since his pride days so i am going to take him in this fight. the dragon is an expert technical fighter but even though he wore down evans and knocked him out he doesn't posses pure knockout power. shogun has great ju jitsu and plenty of power. the dragon has had only two knockouts in his last 7 fights......albeit they were the two fights previous to this one.

both are brazilian so the rivalry between camps is there too.

i think this fight could easily go the distance if it was a 3 round fight but since its a championship fight i think someone will get knocked out or submitted late.

Shogun is an expert and has more overound skills than the Dragon, but Lyota is very unconventional is his game. Karate 101 and then some. I take Lyota in this.

i'm not sure karate can take the dragon much further. cung lee is the only karate master i believe could have been a major superstar...........of course he thinks making movies is better so we may never know. shogun has seen every type of karate out there while in japan with pride..........not sure the dragon has anything new to surprise shogun except tremendous technique.

if he does beat shogun then he will prove karate has its place in mma.

Lyota reminds me of a praying mantis. Shogun is good, but Machida is a careful and calculating assassin. Will be fun to watch.
