I went out fishing for blue cod with my brother in NZ a few years back and hooked a Great White, it didnt take long to come to the surface but when it did I had my head hanging over the side of the boat to see if I could see it. Well it came flying out of the water, shook its head, cut the line and was away. It was only a little one 12-14 feet, but it was one of the most amazing creatures I have ever seen for real. How anyone could kill one is beyond me. Thanks Guys, you know you echo my sentiments and we have to take care of our oceans more, I have it in my head now to try and Email these places more often and not just sit back! What a great expereince make's the catching of my first brown trout pale into insignificance, must say in defence that I put it back again in the reservoir as it was only small!

Good view, worth the time spent watching, so much info on 5 cases and it shows the extent cover up is undertaken, proof really that these incidents were more than just natural occurences, due to this treatment. Good postin BrillB.

Second letter received today.
Dear Aards,
Shark finning Thank you for your email of 15 October about shark finning following on from your previous email and our response dated 15 October. I have been asked to reply. The ban on removal of shark fins at sea is now effectively in place. The UK has issued no permits this year and will not, as mentioned in my initial reply, issue any more.
Defra agrees with the views you express that this measure, although a strong step, will need to be complimented by a range of bespoke measures to best protect shark species. As elasmobranchs (sharks, skates and rays) are rapidly depleted by overfishing and slow to recover due to their specific biological characteristics, it is essential to maintain sustainable fisheries on these stocks and ensure that threatened species recover as rapidly as possible.
Many elasmobranch species are highly migratory by nature. As such, we will seek to resolve these issues on an EU-wide and international basis wherever possible, through seeking measures to protect and manage them sustainably at the appropriate fishery management bodies.
Defra is also continuing to fund research that will help us to successfully protect and manage elasmobranch stocks, through better understanding their movements, key habitats and survivability after being caught and released.
I hope that this letter addresses your concerns and shows that the UK is committed to ensuring the conservation and sustainable management of sharks.
Yours sincerely,
Leah Mauger Defra - Customer Contact Unit

Oh that ones harsh, you see his mate, dont run down to see if hes alright or anything, and whatever you do dont stop filming. Yes they are probably thinking we will sell it to one of those TV programs that pay a few $s £s to show other peoples mishaps! Cringe factor but always watchable.

Pro stunt man, controlled tumbling, but his timing at the end when hit by the car to flip and land on two feet is awesome work! Convenient parent ready to catch pram also. To consider Cgi spoils this film.
