I have to say without question that I would go through with it. If it was between my loved ones and another race that I didn't care at all about, I would def look after the welfare of my family- first consideration and last.
I know it's not ethical, but I couldn''t do anything but that. At the same time though, I wouldn't , or rather couldn't blame them for doing the same to us- not if I were being honest to myself. That's not to say that I wouldn't fight them to the death if they tried it, but intellectually, I couldn't blame them.
It is an interesting question.
Cheers, Drex!

Who would have thought that the closest planet to the sun would have had these strutures on it, if indeed it was the closest to our sun when they were erected. Thanks for the vids Brills, cant get the web link to work however! Hey, Aard! Vulcanic and I were just discussing, Vulcan- the once known planet that was closer to the sun than Mercury- so, closer than 36million miles from the sun. It disappeared in 1876, and no one ever saw it again. It had been observed by historically know astronomers of the time for 114 years. Then, BAM! It's gone. How's that for a mystery? At any rate, in discussing possibilities of where it wandered off to, one of theories that we discussed was: That because the Sun's mass is 333,000 times the size of earths, and because it's gravitational pull is 28 times that of earth, and considering the close proximity, that perhaps it was possible that Vulcan/Nibiru slowly- then quickly, (as the disparity between the planet and the Sun's gravity decreased to point of imbalance)- spiraled right into the sun. There were other theories, but if this one is anywhere near close, it would stand to reason that Mercury might have, at some point previous, been farther from the sun then it is now. So, your civilization on Mercury, might well have been there at some point in time, and wouldn't seem as far-fetched at all. It makes sense that maybe the planets closer to the sun might over time, slowly move even closer. No? Just trying to think outside the box, here. heh heh heh. Cheers Hawk

Blacky! I think that you're in the wrong thread! Here ya go. www.georgiairishdiscdogs.com/thoughts_updated_regularly_on_discdogginNovember 17th, 2009 Well the 2009 Disc Dogging season is kind of officially over after the incredible shows the dogs put on at the ROCK RANCH this past weekened owned by Chick Fil A. Now the time starting today is to focus on getting the dogs field built and also there indoor training building. Which will be small but there area to train in will be 40 feet by 20 feet and then there will be a sitting area with TV where we can rewatch videos and train and learn from them, there will be a grooming area and also a full bath. The field has a lot of work to do. I just dont know if I will ever be able to get it where it could possibly hold a competition I just want to have a half way decent field to practice on and that is something we have never had in our first almost five years in the sport.
Have fun there man! heh heh heh Cheers, Hawk

If you stop the vid at the right place- right around :47, you can see the string, or cord, and eyelet, attached to the apex of the pointed hat- as it's pulled up, and out of the pic. Same time as the scream.
Creepy, but fake. IMO.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on your toes. I did sort of add an original thought or two, though, to contribute. Any thoughts on that? Or no?
Sorry, Not trying to "take" any of your glory, Brill. I can remove it if you prefer.

I know that some of you don't go to DTV. I just wanted to share this with you, as it is, simply, so frickin' awesome in it's scope. It was posted there by Herbert- (don't really know much about him, but...) It also brought to mind my response that I will share also. Sorry, lol. You don't have to read if not interested. Thank goodness for freedom of choice, eh? lol
Herbert wrote: More info At TEDIndia, Pranav Mistry demos several tools that help the physical world interact with the world of data -- including a deep look at his SixthSense device and a new, paradigm-shifting paper "laptop." In an onstage Q&A, Mistry says he'll open-source the software behind SixthSense, to open its possibilities to all. www.ted.com/talks/pranav_mistry_the_thrilling_potential_of_sixthsense_technology.htmlPretty damn cool, huh? It made me think about the following: This whole thing is freckin' awesome. Scientific and technological advancements, such as this, has really and truly begun to exponentially and rapidly move us forward. We are really starting to take off. We would probably be amazed, even being fully cognizant of current trend of super-advancement in practically all realms of human discovery, to look forward- even only ten years- and to see what lies ahead in our future.
In addition to the wonderous simplicity, yet completeness, of interaction that this tech. creates between the physical world and the digital one, the philosophy of this "open source" sharing ideology is an awesome concept. It deserves a shout of tremendous praise unto itself. A far cry from where we are now in the commercial world of grand corporate profit-based companies that basically take advantage of the consumer in any and every way possible. It will be interesting to see how successful he is in this, but he shouldn't have to act alone, for our benefit. He should have our tremendous support. This is just one more reason, and greatly important need for the greedy corporate conglomerate structure to reel in the internet, and to grasp as much control, and potential power, back into their greedy little palms- and bank accounts as possible. I sense some huge power moves and possible "wrestling for control" occurring as this technology, and others, moves forward. We need to be on the right side, and to demand progress and change in this realm as well. A difficult proposition. If we continue to just sit idly by, just propping ourselves on hollow opinions- no matter how "right" and correct they are, those that actually "act" on their ideals, good or bad, will win the struggle. Is it going to be us, or them? That is a question to consider, and to act upon. We need to come together on things like this to demonstrate our true powers of unity of cause. With the internet, and WWW at our disposal, we have the perfect tool- for the time being- to make this happen. We need a new set of leaders- and I don't mean political leaders- that can act as a unifying epicenter of organization. The internet is so much larger than local, state and national governments and their associative politics, and has the potential to give us our own chosen form of NWO. The good kind, that is sans the historical and current corruption of the known and "accepted" global economics and politics. If properly managed, and assembled, we can do great things. We need some great thinkers in this newer realm of potential reality, to create, assemble, and unify some cohesiveness to the whole idea. Just food for thought, but does anyone see where I'm going with this? Or am I just dreaming?
A loud, booming cheer for this guy, and all like him that will help guide us in the "right" direction. To a brighter, more enlightened, and universally gratifying and prosperous future that we might hope for and deserve. All of us.
YES!!!!!!
Cheers to this guy, and all like him who want to include all of us in this step forward- in giving us back, something for nothing- A true example of public domain, and a key concept of "sharing," for the benefit of all. A concept that I hope will grow and grow, as the broken financial, corporate, and in some cases, political cogs of our society re-construct and adapt to our future. Maybe, at this point, we should be the ones leading the way, and the governments should be following- in the back seat. Isn't that the way it was supposed to be??? I don't know about everyone else, but I am so tired of being led by the ear, and cattle-prodded, into the conformity of their agenda. An agenda that has their best interests in mind and in heart- not ours.
Please share your thoughts.
Cheers, all.
