As with last years flu. I personaly know no one who has gotten this flu.
I only knew of one person last year that got it, and she was a friend of a freind.
Now, I'm not denying it isn't there and I'm not suggesting that people haven't died from it. Its here, and people have died. But, The levels are actualy lower than last year.
As before, they are hyping it up. Vaccine shortages blah blah blah...
Now, when people think there is a shortage. They tend to want watever is running out. So more and more people are demanding to be vaccinated.
So to ease this shortage. Guess what?

Sounds like a reasonable thing to do, doesn't it?
Now, just ponder this for a momaent.

Now look at the date of this article.
April 2010.
So, vaccines that werent used, expired in the spring of 2010? To dispose of these vaccines, they have to be considered 'hazardous waste'? To properly dispose of hazardous waste costs alot of money. I know. In construction we deal alot with disposing of contaminated land. It ain't cheap. I'm all for governments trying to save money. But this is fucking stupid.
Again think about this:
1. Unused stock of vaccines costs loads of money to dispose of.
2. New flu season starts. Due to budget cuts not enough new vaccine is produced.
3. Seeing an opportunity to dispose of 'toxic' waste and save money. A lower than average flu season is hyped up so people freak out over making sure they get vaccinated.
4. People are vaccinated with an expired vaccine. Because the flu season is lower than normal. The expired vaccine is credited with the low flu numbers/deaths.
It's a fucking win win situation.
Or, maybe I'm just overthinking shit again.

Leftover swine flu vaccines from last year's pandemic are to be rushed out to GP surgeries to fill the shortfall in jabs, it has been announced.

Swine flu vaccine left over from the winter 2009/2010 vacination campaign expires these days and therefore has to be disposed. Due to the content of mercury added as Thimerosal (also known as Thiomersal) to most of the vaccines that depending on the manufacturer can reach 25-50 ppm in the vaccine, the left overs have to be handled as "hazardous waste".
