If it uses all energy. How can any be radiated external to the sphere?

nothing can absorb energy without becoming energized itself. basic rules of physics apply. once the bubble has absorbed all useful energy it will begin to decay and emit this energy in the infrared spectrum. we see this happening naturally all across the universe. energy can never be completely contained or converted.
i'm not trying to claim this is a dyson sphere. i posted this because i was shocked that the scientific community actually had several targets it considered dyson sphere candidates.

True.
But, think about it.
It's a nebula. Theories are theories.
Maybe what we are looking at, are ourselves in a toroid universe, transmitting messages in a mis-shaped bubble (due to transmition problems).

But jesus, can you imagine the engineering technology needed to create such a structure, let alone the reasorces. If such a civilisation exsists, they would have as much intrest in us as we do in a petrie dish full of ameoba.

see i disagree. i think we sell ourselves short. any species that could make dyson sphere has probably either evolved past or never had artistic and/or imaginary skills.
here we sit with not even the slightest idea how to make one of these things but yet we understand their concept. explain to us how you did it and we'll understand pretty quickly. there is nothing in the universe that we cannot comprehend once you get past religious ideology. we are only primitive because of religion and politics. our minds are more than capable of processing just about anything thrown at us. if we anything we are just underachievers.
but that also may be a huge problem. because we can imagine all of these wonderful and mind numbing feats perhaps the reality of the universe and the species that may inhabit it are compromised by our own ability to imagine anything we desire. there is just as a great a chance that any other species in the universe is as locked to their planet as we are if not more so. yes there are probably other species.............but there are no odds that favor space travelers.
for all the ufo footage we all have seen. for all the stories we have heard there is still not anything that says aliens are here or have been here for certain. we just take it for granted that they are because honestly its what we all hope. even a malevolent species here to enslave us would make us feel better because at least we would know we are not alone. none of us really want to accept the odds which say its improbable that we have had contact or ever will. i know i don't.................but the reality is still the same no matter how much our imagination and wishful thinking blinds us.

Frickin sceptic?
The reality that no one has ever proved beyond reasonable doubt that there is other life in the universe hasnt stopped us trying to destroy most of the life on this planet.
If we are alone dosnt that make all life here a hell of a lot more precious.
