Hey guys. I got a call off my Mum in Greece on Thursday evening telling me my Dad was poorly, nothing to worry about she said (fair enough). Friday I rang and he was no better so went to pharmacy who suggested he may have a 'water' infection and gave him antibiotics. Monday morning he was so ill he went to hospital, turns out he hadn't been able to Pee for almost 2 days and he never let on. He does not like Dr's or Hospitals! They took him straight into surgery (fighting and kicking by all accounts).
He was in surgery a few hours, they told Mum he had a blood clot in his bladder that caused a blockage, they also told her his immune system was shot and they had took tests, to prepare for the worse as they believed he had leukaemia!! He has had all sorts pumped into him the past few days. My Mum said he has morphed before her eyes, swellings coming up and down, changing colour... weird stuff. Late last night whatever was going on seemed to stop and he felt ok, much better in fact. I’ve not slept a wink last night waiting for the results of his tests, we have all prepared ourselves for the worse outcome. This morning no fewer than seven Doctors went to his bedside to talk to himself and my Mum. They were told he didn’t have leukemia or anything else – GREAT :-D
They then asked if he had had the swine flu jab, he did early Thursday morning. They all started talking very fast Greek, no one understood them, the Doctors were all on their phones and running to offices! It took my Mum twenty minutes to find out what was up. Turns out there is 40 – 50 people on the Island who have had the jab and have some sort of serious reaction to it, they have told her they have reported it to the government and they are tracing ALL batches and who had them. They ‘think’ it’s been a faulty batch?!?!?!
