My wife was raised a Mennonite. This X-Mas she wanted to bake a traditional Mennonite bun that she learned from her mother. Zwieback. She couldn't find her mom's recipe. So I googled a recipe for her and printed it, hoping to help her out. Then the fun began. Basically........That's not my mom's recipe, you can't do that to it. How dare you insult my intelligence by giving this to me. blah, blah, blah. She refused to make it. So...............I went out to the local grocery store and bought plain buns and told her they were better than anything she could have made. BTW, I am writing this from my laptop on the basement couch. My new bed apparently. In case you'd like to give it a go www.mennonitegirlscancook.ca/2008/12/zwiebacksgrandma-buns.html
