The pic that I commented about the possible tail wrapped around it..... I swear I have seen this same exact object before. I just can't remember what I was looking at. I have a great memory and must really think about it.

Yeah I hear you Jessie. Had a look can't find any old reports about it except the MUFON report. This witness saw it on TV.
I work all over the city of Pittsburgh, and have been asking around. In the suburbs, most are clueless. When in the main city, many do know of this. About 1 out of 2-4 folks that lived in the main city knew about this. And the conjecture was that this was a government coverup. They were all expecting it to be in the news. The lack of media attention is what propagated the government coverup conjecture.
Even if it was not a UFO. Think about it, at the very least, it would have been a cute human interest story for the news. Masses tricked by kites etc.... Why leave an entire city in the dark for decades over this? Isn't this what the media is for?
Or why not do an experiment like with another mass Pittsurgh siting from March 1,1978. They posted it in the newspaper without details. Then asked for everyone to call with their details. Perhaps we are all doing this for nothing. At other sites they think they are kites. And I have even been insulted for uploading my stills seperately. I wanted to retain quality. And I told you I have zero graphic skills. But no one will help me for "just kites". If someone would tell me how to get perfect stills, I would do it.

Nearly 30 reports of unidentified flying objects allegedly seen in the Pittsburgh area Wednesday night were logged yesterday during an experiment aimed at bringing more objectivity to UFO reports.
The experiment, carried out by a statewide group of UFO investigators based in Westmoreland County, was prompted by an initial report from a district construction worker and his girlfriend who claimed they saw a massive disc-shaped object settle about 2,000 feet over Highland Reservoir about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
At the suggestion of the Pennsylvania Center for UFO Research—formerly the Westmoreland County UFO Study Group- the Post-Gazette withheld details of the sighting so reports from other, asked by the UFO group to phone in any sightings, would not be influenced .
The investigators are comparing the reports received yesterday with that of the construction worker and his friend, published here for the first time.
The construction worker—Glenn A. Ricci, 22, of 6921 Bishop St., Morningside—said he and his girlfriend first saw the object at 10:15 p.m. in the vicinity of the O'Hara Township Municipal Building during a drive in the North Hills area.
Ricci said he and Claire Gallery of 1026 Wood-vine St., Stanton Heights, paused for about two minutes along Fox Chapel Road to watch the object, which they agreed was "very bright, much brighter than a star."
A second object, which Ricci described as "incredibly fast, much faster than a plane," flew into view from the north, then turned abruptly and headed directly toward the first object.
They drew close and then disappeared over a hill in the direction of Highland Park, he said.
"I wanted to follow it and find out what it was," Ricci said. "So I drove up Delafield Road and across the Highland Park Bridge to Highland Park, where I figured I could get a better view."
A minute or two later, he said, the object reappeared from the general direction of Downtown.
The object approached from a fairly high altitude, he said, descended steadily and paused over Highland Park reservoir.
He estimated its size as larger than the reservoir itself and its elevation at about 2,000 feet.
He said Claire seemed "in awe of" the object and was asking, "What will we do if it lands?"
He said it carried three triangular lights on the bottom and two red lights at the end.
At the same time, he said, it emitted a low humming sound "unlike any plane I ever heard."
He denied it could have been a weather balloon. Nearby city lights combined with lights from the object revealed structural features that resembled paneling, Ricci said. .
It hovered briefly over the reservoir, then headed back in the general direction of Downtown and angled upward, he said.
When Paul Oles, program director for Buhl Planetarium, was asked whether he had noticed any unusual phenomena that night, he said he had seen "a peculiar thing I can't explain."
"I was on Perrysville Road (on the Northside) about 9 p.m. and observed a bright light in the sky," he said. "I initially thought it was a floodlight from a plane, but after watrhing it for a few seconds I became uncomfortable with that explanation. For one thing, it didn't seem to be moving in any direction. and for another, the light appeared to be scanning. I finally satisfied myself by saying it must be a floodlight from a lane and that the angle I was seeing it from made it appear stationary. Perhaps, I thought, the actual movement of the plane produced what appeared to me lo be the scanning quality."
There appeared to be at least one major discrepancy between Oles' and Ricci's stones—the time. If they both saw the same object, it would have had to remain in the area for more than an hour.
But suppose other people in the Pittsburgh area had seen a similar object. A news account might encourage them to come forward with their own stories-but their stories might be colored by Ricci's description.
Readers were encouraged to notify the UK) investigating group at 863-3874 and let the Ufologists make their own comparisons.
The resulting calls are still being evaluated, but Robert Cowell, the organization's director, said late yesterday that it "appears that something very large, low and bright" did appear in Pittsburgh-area skies between 10:15 and 11 a.m. that evening.
Most of the calls, he said, came, not from the North Hills, but from eastern and southern districts -Monroeville, Penn Hills, Edgewood, and the South Hillso.
The closest sighting, he said, was reported by three women who were standing in a golf house in Schenley Park, who described a circular object carrying small white lights, relatively close to the ground. "They insisted it couldn't have been a plane," he said.
"We are still studying the reports and, at the moment, have no firm conclusions to report."

so there are ufo reports but i would have thought we would get some from the stadium?
or there's still these? that could have been filmed and added to the other ufo reports,im not sure,just still hoping for more reports as lack of witnesses from stadium is somewhat a puzzle

You know brill, I think that video of the roto kite show an obvious contrast to what we see in the 79 Pittsburgh video. For one there is no sign of a string and when you still the kite video you can see the rotation blur, you can't on the video or the stills of the Game sighting.

You know reading all about this stadium UFO business had me really interested in the March 1978 UFO mass sitings. Here is another newspaper article about the March 1st 1978 business.
The reason for my overall interest was that my entire childhood neighborhood was UFO alley. The UFO's were mostly larger than a house, often sitting stationary over a house, very bright light, and humming. Many years later even a neighbor I previously didn't know, told me they had seen them. 3 different folks even saw a large one sitting over my own house. I found smaller burnt out rings in my back yard.
An investigator was dispatched to talk to my one neighbor. Although she didn't call them. I used to work with her in a local restaurant, and a man showed up on her day off. When I asked if this was about the UFO, he said yes. She never called him back. And she was even under surveillance. One day she was walking down the street, and I caught up to her. She told me that I should stay clear of her for safety, and that she didn't want me involved. And that some strange men were following her around. And I asked why? She said it was likely from the UFO business. She said, "don't turn your head", but look behind us to the left. And there was at least one man sitting in a car. For about a week, I tolerated having strange folks around in our neighborhood. But I am a bit bold and one day waved to one. He started his out of state car, and drove next to me. And asked, how do I know you? And I said, you know how. And walked away. Those men were never around again after that. Just so you know, she was a carefree, fun, and bold person that didn't scare easily. Only time in my life that she ever seemed truely worried about something. She refused to discuss it after the man showed up, and the surveillance business. And she was my best friends sister. So I talked to her a lot.
The man that mentioned the stadium UFO to me was one of at least 30 folks in our neighborhood that had a convincing experience. There was another woman that I knew well, that tallked about her siting in public, and I even made fun of. So I didn't look crazy lke the next person. But in reality, I knew it was really happening. I worked in the local restuarant and heard all the chatter. I likely knew that this was a major event even more so than others. The stadium event happened I think not long after our neighborhood ordeal. For all I know, it could have been around the time of the March 1st 1978 business. But I really can't date it exactly.
Ok so I scared you all off with my weird story. Oh well.... Anyways, Brillbilly, I had that same exact kite video in my YouTube channel favorites. Its hits have gone up dramatically since my video post. ;D So far I have submitted this "event" to 2 places

Perhaps the left object is a manless hot air balloon with a burner (bright center) which is dragging the right object. The right one looks almost heavy and mechanical to me. And would perhaps keep the balloon from gong too high.
The right object has a solid swirling piece that goes around it, and ends in a hook like thing on the top. Sort of reminds me of an umbrella aerial tram.
Now tonight I talked with an acquaintance who pointed out something I was not aware of. (I am not a sports fan.) He said that there is nowhere to fly a kite into the stadium nearby. Now I am not certain about this. But we both agreed, a kite expert is also in order to determine this. Plus I would like to know if it is possible for a totally round kite to spin like it is.

we still have to take in to account that others ufo reports were also reported on that day, but from other people not at the game. Its a ufo until identifide, but i must point out that i fully understand that ufo doesnt have to be made by off world beings ,;)
Well, most tales are kept secret out of concern of looking crazy. My husband and close family are the only ones that know me, that know about mine.
You folks all seem to know a lot about video. Could video of kites give these kinds of weird stills. Perhaps distortion caused by their movement? Maybe what looks solid is actually swirl affect?

good points,i cant answer them to be honest as i just don't now. Its easy to say an object in the sky is balloon or bird or kite but its not always whats being filmed or photo'd. I believe in alien UFOs,"have for many years" but proving to others, that wont even look in to the abundance of documented evidence to support the premise, that some UFOs could well be craft that have capabilities beyond human engineering abilities. Is never easy,just ask J. Allen Hynek!,lol
we may never fully know what was in the sky's over pittburg on that day but something was,thats for sure!

I am, determined and will find out. If I aim to do something, I always manage to do it better than the next person. I think because I have great stupid luck.
So did interest here die down since perhaps they all think the objects are kites now? I am curious since others opinions may affect mine. You all seem pretty intelligent.
I stuck a tacky plug for the stills at the beginning of my first video. Those stills are not getting enough attention on Youtube. I want more attention so my chances of finding someone that could help me are better.
And I emailed 2 more people. The one place said they get back to you within 24 hours. Fingers crossed...
